Killbear Provincial Park is one of the most popular parks in Ontario. It is visited and enjoyed by thousands of campers and visitors alike during the open seasons. Many campers have been coming for years and even decades and from all across the globe. 

That's why it is so important to support our park initiatives. The Friends of Killbear aims to help the park by helping with financing important research initiatives related to park wildlife. The Friends of Killbear also strives to help bring educational programs and engaging events together to help visitors learn more about Killbear.

Snakes at Killbear


Killbear Provincial Park is known for its diverse wildlife as well as wilderness. There are 11 species of snakes at Killbear half of which are at risk. You can help us continue to learn more about these snakes that include the Eastern Hog-nosed snake and Massasauga Rattlesnake by simply making a donation

Campers and visitors have been enjoying Killbear Provincial Park's pristine waters whether it be by swimming or boating. Chipmunks at Killbear


Killbear Provincial Park is known for its beauty and breathtaking scenery. Within that scenery there are so many interesting animals that many visitors and campers have a chance to see. One of the most common is the chipmunk!

Did you know that Chipmunks are solitary creatures and rarely interact with each other until mating season arrives in spring? They usually sleep up to 15 hours a day and forage for food to stock up before winter arrives.
